Getting in

The Mines are reached through the upper mines past the Dragon Statue. The statue trades Essence for skill perks, and the Stone Refinery — unlocked by its own story quest — is what turns stone into craftable Essence Stones.

  • Dragon Statue

Trades Essence for Mining and Combat skill perks.

  • Stone Refinery

Story quest unlock; the main way to get Essence Stones and stone crafting materials.

  • Teleportation Chalice

Unlocked with the Stone Refinery — teleports you back to the farm for 10 per use.

What to carry

The pickaxe tier decides how fast a floor clears. The mining tools below are the ones you buy at the Blacksmith, in the order they come available.

The five biomes below

The Mines are five connected biomes, each with its own ores, gems, artifacts, forageables, monsters, fish and harvestable resources. Every biome also changes the floor types you meet — treasure rooms, locked ladders, ritual chambers and an arena floor that is not a normal fight.

  • 1. The Upper Mines

Each biome drops its own ore, gem, artifact and forageable table.

  • 2. The Tide Caverns

Each biome drops its own ore, gem, artifact and forageable table.

  • 3. The Deep Earth

Each biome drops its own ore, gem, artifact and forageable table.

  • 4. The Lava Caves

Each biome drops its own ore, gem, artifact and forageable table.

  • 5. The Ancient Ruins

Each biome drops its own ore, gem, artifact and forageable table.

What the treasure rooms hold

Treasure chests spawn from floor two and come in four rarities — wooden, copper, silver and gold. The artifacts below are the ones they can drop, with the floors where each one appears.

Running out of room

A full inventory ends a run. Fainting ends it worse. Both are avoidable with the same habit: bank what you do not need before you go deeper.

  • Ship early

Selling ore and stone at any town stall keeps the bag open.

  • Eat before you are low

Food restores the health that a fainting run costs you a day.

  • Take the lift down

Ladders are the fast way back; searching for one on the way up is where the time goes.
